Innovation Impact Research and Presentation

This is the collaborative workspace that will be used by TCOM-365 Innovation & Social Media students to publish their presentations on how social media and other new communication technologies are affecting various facets of our society:

Assignment

In assigned small groups, students will explore the concept of innovation and social media with a specific context (i.e., journalism, public relations, advertising, entertainment, home, school, work and church) and they will share their discoveries with their colleagues and others who are interested utilizing this wiki.

The grand question is: How are emerging technologies and social media affecting/changing society?

Each group will seek to answer this question through collaborative research and presentation. Participants will find and present examples or illustrations of new/emerging technologies and discuss their impact on communication and society within their assigned contexts. Students are urged to think creatively, to think critically and to think outside the box. Sources may include articles or book chapters, expert blog posts, multimedia clips, Web sites, etc. Inclusion and discussion of actual examples/illustrations of new or emerging technological products is highly desired. In addition to the group's contribution to this wiki, the group will facilitate a classroom presentation and discussion.
